Description
This intricately carved piece is the “Soul of Music” represented by the shadow horn blower. Two rhythms becoming one as the figure joins with his horn and shares sounds of his soul.
Carved of Ebony wood and dancing to his own joyous music this musician arches his back and lows with all his might. Trumpeter from the northern region of Ghana. It is in the vision of this piece that we see the tradition of the Hausas who use their horns during traditional festivals such as the “fire festival.”
